Kaleido (Dual System Edition) – Cropster RI Setup (Beta)
This guide explains how to connect your Kaleido Dual System Edition coffee roaster to Cropster Roasting Intelligence (RI) using the official Plug & Play beta integration.

Artisan Scope Software
The Dual and Pro versions of the Kaleido roaster can operate using Artisan coffee roasting software. Artisan is an open-source (and free) software that helps coffee roasters record, analyze, and control roast profiles. This software can automate the creation of roasting metrics to help make decisions that influence the final coffee flavor. Available for Windows and Mac, see computer requirements on their website. Download the latest version using the link below. Note: Kaleido and Kaleido Roasters Canada is in no way affiliated with Artisan Scope. Artisan scope is a third party software company which can conect to many brands of coffee roasters.

Note: Do not plug the USB cord from a Dual machine into the USB port on your computer. It might damage your control board, and it does not connect to your computer through USB. The USB cord on Dual machines is reserved for the Kaleido tablet only.

Please kindly note, please do not use special characters, such as []^{}&, etc for WIFI names and passwords, this may result in the inability to search for and join a WIFI network.

The Kaleido Roaster manual is based on Artisan 2.8.4, you can download Artisan 2.8.4 from the following link, or you can download the latest version of the installer from Artisan Scope.
Extended Exhaust Pipe Connection Solution
Please note that if you modify and install an externally extended exhaust pipe yourself, it must not be tightly connected to the roaster’s exhaust pipe. This is because the water vapor generated during the roasting process cannot be discharged from the extended exhaust pipe in time, causing the water vapor to condense into small droplets when encountering cold and flow back into the machine’s mainboard, leading to a short circuit on the mainboard.

Kaleido Maintenance
It is recommended that the drum be cleaned once a month for more frequent use and once every 3 months for less frequent use.
